"The officer asked the individuals what it was and the female replied it was a dog."

Police said the dog, an 8-month-old Shiba Inu named Rex, was taped to the fridge upside down and was struggling to free itself. When they asked how long it had been there, Toll said about 20 or 30 minutes.

Investigators said the couple had been at odds over Rex after he had bitten Toll the week before.

"She wanted him to get rid of the dog, he didn't want to," Huntley said.

According to the report, Toll was trying to tend to a wound on the dog when it bared its teeth and growled at her. She became scared and then upset. She wanted to get back at Beck and teach the dog a lesson, so she bound its snout and legs with elastic hair bands and taped it to the fridge.

The report goes on to say that when Beck saw the dog he said, "Take him down, you are so sick." Toll became angry and said, "No, you are sick for not caring enough about me to get rid of the dog.”

That's when Toll decided to go back to her apartment. The report said Beck blocked her way. She reached for her cell phone and Beck grabbed it from her. She began throwing things at him, then grabbed her Chihuahua named Peanut and headed for the door.

That’s about the time that police arrived.

Huntley told 7NEWS that when the officer tried to remove the tape and elastic bands from Rex, he yelped in pain.

Both he and Peanut were taken to the Human Society.

"I'm absolutely sickened," said Lisa Pedersen, chief executive officer of the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. "No matter what was going on with these animals, they did not deserve this treatment."

Pedersen said that Rex and Peanut are stressed out but are doing OK physically.

The incident is the talk of the town.

"For them not to be able to settle their differences in an adult way is just unbelievable," said Cathy Greenwald. "They don't deserve a dog."

Beck and Toll were both arrested on charges of domestic violence.

Toll is also facing a possible cruelty to animal charge and possession of a controlled substance. Police said that while Toll was being processed into the jail, deputies noticed a tinfoil container with a black substance inside. When they asked her what it was, she allegedly told them it was opiates.

Been having a fabulous weekend!

Yesterday we brought boxes of summer clothing up from storage. Went through everything. Tried on everything. Divided it up into keep and donate piles. They were actually about the same size lol. I found clothing in there that I have never even TRIED on (badly chosen gifts). It looked good visually at the time so I kept it. Apparently it's not quite as flattering as it looked on the hanger (read: not made for woman with larger chest, looks like figure skating outfit). So yeah, after that put away most of the stuff I'm keeping, put winter clothes in that box, packed most of the clothes I'm taking to Cuba.. wee!

Then I went to the Walls of Jericho/Red Chord show yesterday. Not really my thing, but I needed some beering. Good times! :)

Today D and I went to a pottery workshop. I made a really crooked (supposed to be square) kitty food bowl. Next time we get to glaze our stuffs. :) I thinks I have a new hobby :)

Then went to fabricland in hopes that they would have stuffing. I knitted a doll, and was hoping to sew it together and stuff it, but they only had dark-coloured stuffing, and the doll's white, so I don't think it'd look all that good. I'll go back after I'm back from Cuba and see if they have some white. Lady there said they'll be getting some in a week or two.

Instead however I found AWESOME fabric for a dress, and some cool buttons.

Checkie this out:

So I found this website that basically tells you how to have your house clutter free within about a month. A lot of it is silly and pointless and I would NEVER ever do (uhm.. like putting car wax on my kitchen sink to make it shine. Ew.), but many tips have been actually helpful.

I'm one of those people who look at a pile of clutter, aimlessly shift it around for about 15 minutes, notice that it doesn't improve and give up. Then when we know company is coming over, I take everything off every surface, put it all into laundry bins and stick it into my closet. Not that there is much of this stuff.. in a house it would all fit ok, the problem is that most of our crap just doesn't fit in the condo period. In a couple weeks I'll know if I have finally found a way of dealing with that! Will be updating!

Oh and.. SEVEN DAYS! w000000t!

I came home yesterday to find that Noel has gotten us a new cooler jug.. but for some reason the dining room was flooded. So we turned it over, wiped up the floor, wiped up the cooler, made sure the cooler was working ok, put everything back, put jug back on it. Great. 5 minutes later it is leaking again! Repeat all wiping. Decided not to put jug back on. 10 minutes later the area around jug is flooded. Turns out that it leaks.

Good thing about all that is that we were forced to move all those boxes that were in the dining room and now it looks so clean and empty. Must keep boxes out of dining room! :) Heck most of them could probably go down to storage if there was any more room in storage. LOL! I think it's time to go through my stuff once again and purge some more.

In other news my jeans have arrived at the Harley dealership!
I was saying a couple months ago that I miss going on epic quests around the city in search for something. aaaand I got to go on one on Saturday.

We went to play darts at a local pub just to find out that there were not one but TWO parties happening there and the darts area was completely occupied.

We decided to take a walk and see if there's any other bars in the area with something to do. We walked for about an hour and a half.. Everything we passed was either packed, full or closed down (mostly the latter).

When we were thoroughly tired and cold we decided that we give up and went to Gabby's, where we normally go for beer and wings. Well, we walk in, and guess what they have hanging on their wall.. A dart board. And beside it, a jukebox. So we got drunk, played darts and sang along to stuffs. It was fabulous! Best night out in.. uhm.. a couple weeks at least. LOL

So yes, now we just need to find people who also like to play darts and go there more often and have little championships. :P I dare say Noel and I would make quite a team!

So last night was good times. Just wish I wasn't feeling as crappy and could actually enjoy the foods and the wine and the music more than I did.

Today I drooled/slept at my desk all morning. After being told I'm receiving more training in the afternoon I decided to medicate with Pepsi. It worked. Kinda.

I was being trained to assign claims, and had to give an example of a city and then find the branch of our company that's closest to it.

I said "Waubaushene" and then giggled uncontrollably for a few seconds. Supervisor was amused.

Good times :) However I have a cold (yes, again, these changes in weather suck donkey balls), so I have no sense of smell.. which will be wonderful I'm sure, for that dinner at the Royal York.
I've had a headache for 6 days straight now. Nothing that would be a cause for concern really, just an annoyance. I decided to go to bed extra early, and ended up sleeping almost 10 hours. It's finally gone now :) I can stop being grumpy lol.

It is mind-boggling how people will stand you up 4 times out of the last 5 times you were planning to get together, and then ask you "so when are we getting together". I'm not mad really (I don't get mad about much lately), just confused and mildly amused.

Not that I have much time to get together with people in the next few weeks. March seems totally booked already. Tonight I finally get some me-time though. I've been desparately needing me-time.

My vacation time has been approved. Now we just need to get that amazing package we saw and we're good to go. :)

Got to see my nieces and nephew over the weekend. Highlights include a game of hide-and-seek, helping my nephew open his birthday presents, and 50 questions :P
Then we went out for beer and a game of darts. I still suck at darts. :P

We get to babysit crankypants Addison this weekend. Going to be an experience I'm sure.

I submitted my request for a vacation for this spring. Should be awesome once I get approved and we can get it. W00t.

We went shopping yesterday. Picked up a collander (because I think that hot pasta in a plastic collander can't be all that healthy), a serving platter for devilled eggs (lol, it's cute, though not very practical, considering that you know.. it's not an everyday kind of dish), a strainer, and I also got some new lush shampoo/conditioner because I was running out. Tried a new shampoo. My hair is happy today. :)

Toronto is celebrating its 175th birthday today. How are you celebrating?

I don't know if we're doing anything tonight yet, although we probably should considering how lovely the weather is today. Even if it's just a walk outside nowhere in particular. Maybe I should bake something too.

I'm excited about seeing my nieces and nephew tomorrow! *jumps up and down* Hopefully my migraine goes away by tomorrow. I need to be in my top aunty-Loni shape for chasing the little buggers around. :)

Tawni is practicing for yet another opera audition. Yesterday morning I found him with his paw stuck under the door to Noel's closet, screaming his little head off. I must point out that the screaming started quite some time before he got stuck. I'm tired of shooing him off the kitchen counter. He's been washed in the kitchen sink twice now, in hopes that it will prevent him from jumping up there, but no.. I find him in the sink almost every morning. I've considered getting an exercise pen, or a cat crate for him and putting it in the farthest room from the bedroom and putting him there at night.. But of course I'd never actually do that because I love the little bugger too much.

My weekend was fantastic. Friday was a bit of a downer at first when we found out that Byzantium decided not to honour our winterlicious reservation because they decided to 'stop the festival early'. So had they told us that when we called, at least we'd have the chance to make other plans.. Instead we were forced to choose between a $150 dinner and pub food. We picked the pub food and went to Gabby's. There we had more trouble with foods. My burger was great, but Noel's Fajita had to be redone a few times. LOL. The night was still fun though.

Saturday we bar-hopped with Mike. Good times. Nothing out of the ordinary happened really. SUnday went to my parentals' house and saw Elvis and my parentals of course. More adventures coming up this week!
